Comprehensive Youth Ministry (CYM) serves young people in Grades 6 and older and follows the guidelines outlined in Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry (published by the USCCB). CYM centers around three main goals:

1) To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.

2) To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.

3) To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

Within these goals are components that help achieve these ministry objectives and encourage young people to action:

Pastoral Care  |  Prayer and Worship

A parish's CYM team includes several adults (who are passionate about supporting young people in their faith) and a small group of young people (usually high school students). This core team serves as the visioning group for the parish's Youth Ministry experience.

COMPREHENSIVE YOUTH MINISTRY

Youth Ministry is not a "program" or a "youth group." It's comprehensive ~ meaning that it seeks to empower young people, through ministry, to become involved in all aspects of parish life and community.

Pope Francis spoke the words at right to young people during World Youth Day 2019 in Panama, encouraging them to put their faith into practice now and to use their God-given gifts: "He invites you and calls you in your  communities  and  cities to go out and
